What Can J.S. Bach Teach Us About Politics?
For many of us, this new year brings a great deal of optimism with it - a hope that we can steer this country in a better direction. It also brings a certain cynicism that progress can actually be made - because one thing is very evident right now: we are a divided country. So what comes next? (Ideally, I’d put them all through a two-day Pomegranate Center Training… perhaps they’ll call after the pandemic!) In the meantime, might I suggest we set aside our bickering for a moment to listen to what the musical greats can teach us about working together.
If a pianist’s hands are at war with each other, the music suffers. If our two political parties are at war with each other, the country suffers. Sooner or later, the two hands need to collaborate.
